Healthy Frozen Banana Treat

When I'm browsing on Pinterest, I'm usually always on the Food and Drink category board. I usually always see the  same recipes over and over again... But earlier today, I came across a quick, easy, and healthy recipe that looks delicious! I'm going to buy the ingredients for it tomorrow and try it out!

Healthy Frozen Banana Treat
2 bananas
- Fage Total 0% Greek Yogurt (any Greek Yogurt should be fine)
- Crushed Almonds
- Cinnamon
- Popsicle Sticks

Directions:
1. Line a tray with parchment paper.
2. Mix the Greek Yogurt, almonds and cinnamon together.
3. Peel the bananas.
4. Cut off an end from each banana and insert the Popsicle sticks.
5. Coat the bananas in Greek Yogurt and almonds.
6. Lay the bananas on parchment paper and freeze for 45 minutes to an hour. The bananas will be creamy and firm, but not frozen.

If you like bananas, you should definitely try out this recipe! I'm excited to try something new!

Health Tips For Busy People

It is very difficult to stay healthy when you have a busy lifestyle. Like myself, I am a full-time college student and I work about 4 days a week. This gives me absolutely no free time on how to stay as healthy as I would like to be. I try to follow all of these tips all year round to live the healthiest lifestyle I can:

1. Drink lots of water! I drink 8 glasses a day and I have been for years. It's very essential to your health.

2. Add some physical activity to your life! I exercise at home because I don't have time to go to a gym. I try to exercise 30-60 minutes 3-4 times a week. Even if you exercise for only 10 minutes a day, it's better than nothing. Also, try taking the stairs instead of the elevator or parking your car farther away so you can do a little bit more walking than usual. Every little bit helps!

3. Make smart fast food choices! Since I am always so busy and don't have time to prepare a meal at home, I have to sometimes eat at fast food restaurants. But I make smart decisions! Here are some examples:

- Order a side salad instead of french fries.
- Choose grilled chicken instead of fried chicken.
- If available, order your sandwich on a wheat or whole grain bun instead of a white bun.
- Get all of your condiments on the side. Especially mayonnaise or ranch dressing. Both of them are loaded with fat.
- Substitute water instead of soft drinks. If the fast food restaurant you're going to has a low calorie menu, order something off of there.

4. Always try to relax when you are stressed out! Do whatever makes you happy.

5. Get enough sleep. It's recommended that everyone should get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. I will admit, I don't get 8 hours of sleep every night, but I try to a few times a week.

What do you do to stay healthy?

Healthy Peanut Butter Dip

One of my favorite foods in the entire world has to be peanut butter. It's so delicious! I will seriously eat peanut butter with anything. But the bad thing about peanut butter is that it's high in fat. Since I've been trying to live a more healthier lifestyle, I've had to cut down on the peanut butter and I have been so upset because of it. But I found a great recipe on Pinterest that tastes amazing and it's actually healthy for you, too! It's also quick and easy to make; it only takes a few minutes! I always bring it with me to school or work in a little container. The perfect on-the-go snack! I eat this yummy peanut butter dip with apples, graham crackers and pretzels! (I always lick the container when I'm done.. it's that good!)

Healthy Peanut Butter Dip
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (I used vanilla Greek yogurt)
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter (I used natural honey peanut butter)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 cup of miniature semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

Directions: In a small bowl, combine the yogurt, peanut butter, cinnamon and chocolate chips. Stir all of the ingredients together and that's it!

The full recipe & nutrition facts regarding the dip can be found here.

Pinterest Motivates Me To Stay Healthy!

Pinterest is hands down one of my favorite websites on the Internet. If you aren't familiar with Pinterest, it is a virtual pinboard that lets you organize and share numerous ideas that you find on the web.

Pinterest has a number of categories you can explore. On Pinterest, my favorite categories are Food & Drink and Health & Fitness.

Since my New Year's Resolution this year is to stay healthy, I have been looking at both of those categories for a few weeks now. Pinterest really helps me stay on track.
